It has been reported that Gordon Banks' 1966 World Cup winning medal and his 1970 World Cup soccer shirt will be auctioned this June. The medal and jersey will be offered by two separate anonymous sellers.

In the 1970 Mexico World Cup group stage match, Banks wore a blue England jersey against eventual champions Brazil. Although England lost 0-1, Banks made a spectacular save, denying Brazilian superstar Pelé's header a save dubbed the "Save of the Century" by the British media.

It is understood that the jersey may even surpass the auction price of Pelé's jersey worn in the 1970 World Cup final which sold for a record £157,750 at Christie's in 2002.
